How to care for your body protector

Caring for your body protector is just as important as wearing one. In this guide we'll share tips from storage to after-care, to make sure your body protector keeps you safer for longer. 

Looking after your body protector whilst in use

Once you've found the right size and know that your body protector fits correctly, it's good to get into a routine of looking after it. Here's what you should do while you're wearing it:

• Consider wearing a body protector custom cover. They look great, but also act as a layer against mud, dust and the elements.  
• When moving around, avoid catching your body protector on any rough surfaces that may rip the breathable outer. 

What to do with your body protector after you take it off

Once you've finished using your body protector, there are ways to keep it in good condition. First, check for signs of damage, particularly if a fall has occurred. Things to look for are dents or changes in the look of the foam. If you spot these signs, it may be time to replace your body protector. 

How to store your body protector

• Hang it up or store flat in a clean, airy space.
• Avoid a car or damp tack room.
• Keep your body protector out of extreme temperatures.
• Don't store in direct sunlight.  
• For the MotionAir, do not put it on a dryer, or near a heat source. 

How to wash your body protector

If your body protector becomes dirty, we suggest sponge cleaning it with warm water and mild detergent. For the MotionAir hybrid air jacket, use a soft cloth slightly soaked in soap. Do not use detergents or bleach.
