Designed and handmade in Northamptonshire, the HX3 Carriage brings the trusted HX3 feel of lightweight comfort, flexibility and security to the unique demands of driving.
A Step Forward for Carriage Driving Safety
Carriage drivers face speed, movement and physical demands every bit as intense as ridden disciplines. Yet until now, protective equipment has largely been rider-focused models, often compromising comfort, fit and compatibility in the seated driving position.
With the HX3 Carriage, Racesafe set out to change that. Developed with direct input from drivers and backsteppers, it delivers Level 3 protection in a form that works with the realities of carriage driving.
Designed for Life on the Carriage
The HX3 Carriage retains everything that has made the HX3 body protector so popular, while incorporating practical updates for drivers. A short back length is now standard to reduce the risk of contact with the seat. The addition of Adult Large Tall and X-Large Tall sizes widens the size range and ensures correct coverage for larger drivers. Integrated front loops and a concealed rear zip allow optional use of a crotch strap to secure the fit.
Already chosen by members of the GB Para Carriage Driving Team and other leading professionals, the HX3 Carriage is built for competition.

Built to Meet the New Rules
Under British Carriage driving regulations, body protectors are compulsory for all drivers and backsteppers under 18 at all times, and for all competitors during the marathon and obstacle phases. The HX3 Carriage meets these requirements while keeping weight, bulk and restriction to a minimum.
