As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting athletes at every level of equestrian sport, the Racesafe team recently had the privilege of spending a day with the British Para Carriage Driving squad ahead of their journey to the FEI World Championships in Germany later this year.
This visit gave us the opportunity to meet the talented athletes representing Great Britain, learn more about the sport of para carriage driving, and ensure each team member was expertly fitted with their new HX3 body protector — our latest innovation in rider safety.
A Vital Weekend for British Para Driving
Organised by British Carriage Driving the Glebe House Driving Trials (2nd–3rd August 2025) brought together a full range of competition classes — from Gateway to Four-in-Hand — alongside the Para Driving National Championships.
Our visit took place the day before the action began, giving us the chance to spend quality time with the squad as they prepared to compete.
Meeting the Team Behind the Reins
It was an honour to meet the talented group of drivers and their support teams who make up the British Para Driving Squad. These athletes, and their remarkable horses and ponies, have been training and competing consistently, working through a rigorous selection process to earn their place on the team heading to the World Championships.
Fitted for Performance: The HX3 Body Protector
As part of our visit, the full team was fitted with Racesafe’s latest innovation: the HX3 body protector.
Designed for the demands of modern competition, the HX3 delivers the highest level of certified protection without compromising comfort or movement — vital for athletes at this elite level of para driving.
Key features of the HX3 include:
-
Lightweight construction to maximise freedom
-
Breathable materials for superior airflow and all-day comfort
-
Certified to BETA 2018 Level 3, trusted by top-level riders
-
Contoured flex zones for a close, adaptive fit in the carriage or saddle
Looking Ahead to Lahden
The FEI World Para Driving Championships in Lahden will bring together the top para carriage drivers from around the globe. For the British team, it marks the culmination of years of training, competition, and unwavering dedication to their sport.
We are incredibly proud to support the British Para Driving Squad on this journey and wish them every success in Germany this September. It’s a pleasure to see the spirit of teamwork, athleticism, and perseverance that defines this squad — and we’re honoured to play a part in helping them feel confident and protected along the way.
